Failure

Written By Thasia Anne

Failure - would not be - not flying
It would be not spreading my wings.
Even if I need to close my eyes
in the wind of change
I will make myself
available for the things
that are coming my way
I will no longer stay grounded
where I floundered
fearful, tearful and defeated
Where I retreated from myself
out of fear of my mothers
definition of failure.
Like a crocus
I will push myself
up through the crusty ground
so I can be found
by those looking for beauty
