By Kay Bradley
Twilight starts it’s nightly rite Shadows fade quietly into dusk, Nature surrender it’s daily fight The night scents emit their poignant musk In the gloam I think of you Memories forever encased A love that was young and true A love that can never be erased Fireflies, flicker lights from setting sun Frogs begin their mournful song Deer graze in meadows till they’re done And amble off so proud and strong ‘Tis a fleeting flicker in time When scenes unfold from long ago Were they real or just a fantasy sublime Or Flowers left frozen in the snow? As the dusk transforms to night memories released return to stone At home, with candles burning bright I close the door I opened in the gloam
