And You Must Remain

By Jesse Batista

I will stand on my own and you will carry on
 When I fall down
 We can’t all go
I know what I know inside me
 I made up my mind
 But you cannot see
Your sadness will set my soul
 Limitless and free

You know that I am gone
But you know not what matters
 It burns like pain
 And you will remain

I soar now with angels’ wings
 Gliding swiftly across the seas
 Over mountains
 Raging rivers
 And through the grandest trees
The anguish I once felt is gone
 I wish you could see
How beautiful it is from here
 so tranquil and carefree

You know that I am gone
But you know not what matters
 It burns like pain
 And you must remain

My heart ached for reasons even I don’t understand
I battled through it all but, it was more than I could stand
The turmoil and anger inside, it was ripping me apart
Please Know now Deep inside of me, whole is my heart

You know that I am gone
That burning pain, it will fade
 My soul needed saving
 I am no longer afraid

So at peace in my Oasis
 I feel no disdain
 Harmony, sweet serenity
 With my demons now slain

I feel like a child
 Dancing in the rain
